Maritime Radio Operators
There are some people out there who love the water and some who absolutely hate it with a passion. I have to admit that I fall into the latter category. The odd swim in the pool or water park is fine by me, but I draw a big thick line when it comes to the great wide open ocean. I don’t know if it’s because I get seasick easily, or because of films like this, this, or even this; but there’s something about being right-smack in the middle of a humongous body of water with no knowledge of what’s around or underneath you that gets me nervous.
Thank goodness for Maritime Radio Operators! They’re the people responsible for the receipt and communication of radio messages to and from ships and harbours. You can rely on them to warn sailors about incoming bad weather, relay vital information to the coastguard in rescues, answer navigation questions, and generally just make sure that the people out there having fun are safe.

The greatest thing since sliced bread.
Food technologists (a.k.a. food scientists) are key personnel in the food processing industry. Generally speaking, their job is to review, control and improve methods of food production at all or any of its stages, be it canning, freezing, packaging, hygiene, etc. Food technologists often spend a lot of time stewing in laboratories (they ARE scientists, after all), and research/study into chemical changes that can occur in our food is very much their bread and butter. Their ultimate goal is often to find a new and better way to maximise food shelf life without sacrificing its nutritional content. However, other important aspects of their research could, for example, include investigating the effects of additives and preservatives on certain foods, as well as ways to enhance the flavour or overall appearance of consumables. We owe innovative products like milk powder, decaffeinated coffee and freeze dried foods to the efforts of food technologists.

First it was Spider-man, then Daredevil and that was followed up by the Incredible Hulk! Now its time for the Fantastic Four!
When they are not fighting crime and saving the world or the universe for that matter from some kind of comic book evil, the team of Mister Fantastic, the Thing, the Invisible Woman and the Human Torch, still have to keep up their day-to-day existence in the real world on a normal level. Well normal to an extent, who wouldn’t use the ability to stretch their limbs an extra bit to catch a falling glass of Orange Juice (Mister Fantastic ), or in the case of the Human Torch fly to work to beat early morning rush hour! Sure being a Superhero does have its perks, but lets not mess around in today’s economic climate we all need to pay the bills somehow. Because saving the world from an intergalactic attack force doesn’t really pay much.
