If you are about to finish with school or university you probably do not yet feel confident about taking on the challenges of the working world. There seem to be so many other requirements besides an academic qualification that employers want. How often do you hear or read about the ‘skills shortage’ and how difficult it is for companies to find the ‘right’ staff? Academic qualifications by themselves do not seem to be enough to solve either of these concerns. It is the Catch 22 of work – how do you get the experience and skills demanded by employers without first being given the chance to develop the required skills whilst working? And just what skills are employers today looking for?

Companies that do everything and anything! Probably some of the coolest companies around as they are open to various business opportunities!

People from all over the work spectrum, you could even have an Engineering degree specializing in Mechatronics (yes there is such a thing!). These are definitely the types of companies that will be looking for people to fill special needs or requirements!

By definition - telecommunication includes television, radio and of course telephone communication. However with the growth of technology and media, it seems that television and radio networks are seen more as media companies these days. Putting that aside and using definitions as a guide line to work with, this is definitely an industry that is action packed and filled with exciting new developments. The growth of telecommunications means that new developments and trends are just around the corner - combining both communication and content into single interactive platforms!

Most telecommunication companies have a diverse network of employees, ranging from marketing, call centre employees, journalists, IT experts, accountants and even lawyers! This is really dependant on the company itself.

Where knowledge is documented on a classic level and promoted by the publishing industry - this is a true representation of information and literature. An industry of imagination and conceptual thinking it has now expanded into the online space.

A qualification in media, publishing and literature generally puts individuals on the correct track. However as in all businesses this industry is made up of various specialized individuals that help to turn it's wheels.

Commercial, shipping, courier, postal, freight - you name it - they will deliver it and you for that matter. The transport and logistics industry is huge and brings about different modes of transport to get objects and individuals from point A to point B!

Basically this industry has a huge need for people from various specialist fields - for example - pilots, drivers, accountants, logistics specialists etc. It is a global industry that shortens the distance from point A to point B.
